The widespread of technology effects design education. Online education is more and more adopted by studio instructors in industrial design programs. By the design community online studio education has a passive side, lacking bodily interactions. The passive type of online education can be transferred to a platform that presents immersive experience: metaverse. The aim of the study is exploring emerging expectations of design students, new types of learning interactions in future online design education and the way of implementation of design phases on metaverse by eliciting needs of students. To fulfill this aim one to one interview will be conducted with the third and fourth year design students that are experienced in face to face, online and hybrid education. The data will be supported with an online questionnaire. User research, virtual prototyping, participatory design, content simulation and creativity are analysis parameters of the elicited data.
