A trial study was set up between a Griffith University PhD candidate (GU), Inspire Pacific (IP) and Teacher in a Box (TIB). The aim of the study was to work towards creating an effective training program for users of Open Educational Resources provided in an offline internet server. IP facilitators working in the Juvenile Justice detention centre in Suva, Fiji were working with the researcher to identify the areas of training required in order for them to be able to re-engage the youths into education and training using the TIB server. This paper discusses the process and outcomes of the trial across a period of eight months. It reviews the programs of education initiated at the Juvenile Justice centre based on the use of technology. Further, how those programs have expanded to include preventative and aftercare initiatives in education for those unable to re-enter traditional schooling as well as their communities.
