Either hand drawn or digital, the cartoons-animated films are the visual narratives, have been occupying more and more volume in space of cinematic visualization and influencing our spatial understandings. Now these films become the part of our intangible heritage (some are on global level) having hundred years of history . These movies not only present the socio-philosophical aspects of specific time through their narratives but also give the visualization of built environment. By analysing them we can understand the different perspectives of built environment. In animated movies we enjoy more freedom of expression than motion pictures so we can consider them as the truly fantasy heritage of any society. This freedom to present any abstract idea in exaggerated language has strength to breaks the set parameters of real space and produces third space muddled in between reality and fiction. Here, plasticized architecture has the central and binary role in visualization of fictional narrative. Latest technological developments of digital virtual reality in animated films are making this situation even more complicated where apparently virtual reality and plasticity are widening the distance in between man and the reality, however without analysing the situation it’s difficult to say if this relationship is widening or transforming. These characteristics make animation an effective tool to present any idea without arousing offensive opposition. Parallel to psychological aspects discussed above, these films have produced enough material worthwhile to study the relationship of architecture with animated cinema and the possible transition in it. I will analyse and try to find the role of architectural visualization in the famous Japanese cartoon series “Doraemon” as a part of universal heritage. The nature and reasons of transition, exaggerated language of objects, architecture and situations according to the narratives will be the focused of my studies.
