Many research have proven that cultural heritage has the power to embody social values and national ideology. China’s Red Cultural Heritage(CRCH) is a classic example of heritage politicization, serving as a symbol of the Communist Revolution that lasted from the creation of the Communist Party of China in 1921 to the establishment of the People’s Republic of China in 1949. On the basis of historical and aesthetic value, CRCH has the patriotic political value of preserving the stability of the Communist Party of China and the nation. Following 2004, the Chinese government fiercely maintained the historical memory and red culture conveyed by the CRCH, implemented corresponding political and economic measures, and encouraged community engagement. This had a significant impact on the formation of national identity. The goal of this article is to introduce the concept of CRCH through literature review and case study, and to further investigate the relationship between the historical memory and national identity of CRCH.
