Overpopulation is a major concern in Brazil. Its major cities are excessively crowed and reaching its full capacity in terms of space and expansion. In South America, with constant development and economic growth, Brazil is a perfect example of emerging pop-up cities where low-income families and other individuals tend to leave the city looking for more affordable housing and end up creating a community that fails socially and structurally for a lack of planning and organization. This study proposes an inclusive design model that will explore infrastructure and mobility problems by establishing livability and integration for these pop-ups cites in Brazil.
My name is Lucas Caetano. I have recently graduated from the architectural undergraduate program from the University of the District of Columbia. I am originally from Brazil but have been living in America since I was 19 years old. Every since I was a kid, my dream was to draw and design for living and I can not see myself doing anything else professionally but Architecture. Currently , I am part of the Architecture Master’s program at UDC and will be conducting this study for the next year.
