In the realm of any organizational change, work culture emerges as a formidable force, often impeding even the most well-crafted strategies. This paper explores the potentials of storytelling-based scenarios to not only navigate change but also to foster an environment conducive to innovation. Moreover, the study delves into the transformative power of storytelling and narratives to (re-)shape organizational futures. Developed and put to the test within a teaching innovation project at the University of St. Gallen, Switzer-land, a participatory approach emerges as a vital requirement in this endeavor. By actively engaging all stakeholders and prioritizing psychological safety, diverse narratives coalesce to form a cohesive frame-work revealing a spectrum of opportunities and risks. This participatory process nurtures a culture of possibilities in which decision-makers and stakeholders collaboratively prepare themselves for the com-plex and uncertain future. The outcome of this approach extends beyond mere strategy formulation; they let ownership and commitment flourish among participants, facilitating smoother implementation and fostering resilience facing change-barriers. Thus, storytelling-based scenarios provide a lean yet powerful tool for leaders and change agents seeking to proactively navigate complexity and drive meaningful transformation within their organizations.
