In our experience in the field of bioarchaeology, we have developed reflections on the museum exposition of human remains. Our experiences, characterized by the intervention of the archaeologists -for the discovery of funerary evidence- and physical anthropologists -for the study of human remains-, can be transferred to the public through the musealization of the entire bioarchaeological contexts. In fact, the funerary sites under our investigations, located in Lombardy and in Piedmont (northern Italy) and dated to the Medieval and Post Medieval period, will soon transform into museums characterized by the exposition of human remains within their original contexts. This musealization process will have to adapt to the existing standards, the ethical issues and the public sensitivities. We present our idea of musealization of bioarchaeological sites with osteoarchaeological samples and archaeological evidences by presenting our cases.
