Charlene Marion is the Executive Director for Co-operative Education and Work-integrated Learning (CEWIL) Canada. She has more than a decade of experience in higher education including experiential education, co-operative education, academic advising, and student recruitment. Charlene is currently responsible for over $50M in work-integrated learning funding from the Government of Canada’s I-WIL initiative and leads an amazing staff team of thirteen across the country. In her spare time, she is completing her MA in school to work transitions for first-generation students and coaches basketball for CEGEP division 1.
Dr. Judene Pretti is the Director of Business Services for Co-operative and Experiential Education at the University of Waterloo. With more than 20 years of experience in the post-secondary sector, Judene leads a department that supports the operation of co-op and WIL programs at the University of Waterloo. She is a senior advisor to University of Waterloo’s Work-Learn Institute, president-elect of Cooperative Education and Work-Integrated Learning Canada (CEWIL Canada), and an associate editor for the International Journal of Work-Integrated Learning.
Akashdeep Singh is a student in the Honours Bachelor of Business Administration (Accounting) program at Sheridan College. He has completed several co-op work terms with KPMG as a staff accountant. In addition to his academic and professional success, Akashdeep was appointed as a Sheridan Student Brand Ambassador where he promoted Sheridan and cooperative education to over 1,000 new students at a predeparture session, while in India, his home country. He is a recipient of a 2022 Sheridan Co-op Student of the Year award and recently received an honourable mention for the CEWIL Canada College Co-op category.
Dr. Matt Rempel is the Director of Career-Integrated Learning at Sheridan and the Present of Co-operative Education and Work-Integrated Learning (CEWIL) Canada. With a decade in post-secondary, his passion is for innovation in work-integrated and experiential learning that enable students to reach their full potential and ready them for the world of work. Matt is a graduate of an Executive MBA program, a CivicAction Fellow, and earned a Doctor of Education degree specializing in Leadership in Post-Secondary from the University of Calgary.
