For centuries, Ahmedabad has been undergoing significant transformations across different domains. These transformations have had different effects in the Western and Eastern parts of the city, especially Bapunagar and Khodiyar Nagar. The research will focus on a selected portion of these two regions, which is demarcated by a portion of the BRTS corridor (Bapunagar approach BRTS and Lilanagar BRTS) and the India Colony Road, whose influence could be seen even now through the increased building heights. Any city’s resilience is a product of the evolved urban sociology which results from the formation of necessary systems, which results in the formation of resultant and social systems. These are influenced by the metabolism of the systems within the inner and outer limits of the city. This research will also provide insights into the transformation of the selected area and its influence on people’s perception, the tradeoffs done by formal and informal communities, the nature of street network and its walkability, and residential density which are part of the necessary systems. Then the quality of the resultant infrastructure such as solid waste and water management and the nature of job infrastructure and transportation networks across genders, which has a ripple effect on the affordability and nature of appropriated public spaces, the social systems will be analysed. This research does not include any proposal. But, it can be used as the base for any future proposal or intervention.
