In the rapidly evolving educational landscape of recent years, stakeholders in the educational sector have faced both opportunities and challenges. The COVID-19 pandemic forced schools and institutions to swiftly transition to online instruction, resulting in student isolation and social awkwardness, particularly among incoming college freshmen. With the introduction of new programs and course topics, students found themselves in unfamiliar territory. To address these challenges, this proposal advocates for the incorporation of interactive learning strategies into the classroom. Interactive learning, inspired by game concepts and supported by educational technologies, promotes collaboration, communication, and engagement among students. Drawing from Herman Narula’s insights from his book “Virtual Society: The Metaverse and the New Frontiers of Human Experience” on the benefits of games, this approach encourages growth, curiosity, problem-solving, teamwork, and creativity. Interactive learning activities can take various forms, from simple online quizzes to complex simulations, all designed to facilitate understanding and application of new concepts. By embracing interactive learning, educators can foster social interaction, bridge the gap between online and offline education, and empower students to navigate the ever-changing educational environment effectively.
