In the current hybrid educational landscape, characterized by a blend of in-person and online learning, our study explores the impactful role of online training in the field of oncology. Specifically we delve into the e-learning platform called “e-oncología ” established by the Institut Català d’Oncologia in Catalonia, Spain. With a history spanning two decades, “e-oncología” has reached 104 countries and has provided services to over 82,000 students through 110 courses and 2,350 educational hours. Our research trace the origins of “e-oncología” and identify key factors contributing to its success. We closely examine how its teaching methods are applied in an online learning setting and explore partnerships that have helped expand its impact. “E oncología” represents a collaboration between institutions, industry partners and government bodies—all working together to support cancer education initiatives worldwide. Our findings highlight the effectiveness of this platform in delivering evidence based online training across disciplines to healthcare professionals involved in caring for cancer patients. Looking forward we predict trends in distance learning for oncology and advocate for strategies to enhance training programs for healthcare professionals. “E-oncología” is an illustration of how technology and teamwork can boost growth and continuous learning. Its effectiveness underlines its importance in today’s e-learning landscape.
