Abstract

Construction projects consist of a complex series of processes involving multiple stakeholders and repetitive activities. Due to these issues, deficiencies in information transfers between stakeholders or confusions in the roles and responsibilities of stakeholders may occur. In this regard, facilitating integration between stakeholders in relation to newly developing technologies, standardizing processes and all documentation will ensure that data exchange between all stakeholders who will take part throughout the building production process can be effectively transferred without loss. Regarding the management of construction project processes; abbreviated as Information Delivery Manual; abbreviated as IDM, proposes a methodology that addresses business processes in a phased manner while also explaining detailed user definitions of information that should be exchanged at certain points within the process of a project. In short, IDM can be reproduced seperately as an effective tool that enables information exchange between stakeholders for all stages of a construction project or a specific stage and also different project types. This study aims to review the topics of studies focused on information management and construction management in the literature and to determine potential research areas related to information management and construction management. As a method of the study, a systematic literature review was conducted and a meta-analysis was completed according to the results of the review. In the completed meta-analysis, the construction project types for which IDM was recommended in the literature were analyzed according to the types of Project and according to projecy life cycle phases and usage of the IDM tool.
