City is the core existence of the modern society, and the street dwellers live within it with characteristic behavior patterns. This study uses literature review, on-site field investigation and participatory observation to explore the living behavior of street dwellers around Taichung Railway Station as an example, and to gain an in-depth understanding of the characteristics of street dwellers’ life and behavioral strategies. Based on the analysis and review of relevant literature, the main characteristics of street dwellers’ life characteristics and spatial strategies are summarised, and through participatory observation and interviews, we can gain profoundly understanding of the behaviors, habits and needs of street dwellers in urban space, and their strategies in space and city. This study sorts out the implementation of the street dwellers’ life strategies and explores how they construct their living circles on the basis of temporal arguments, the creation of personal space and a sense of security, and the urban scale. As net-zero emissions have become one of the issues of urban sustainability, understanding how to reduce carbon living has become an important topic. The study finds out the life of street dwellers in depth and finds out that they often live with lower costs and make good use of public facilities in the city. Hence , it summarise the relationship between street dwellers’ life and urban decarbonised avtivity, this study proposes to explore their life tactic and behavior pattern of street dwellers as a reference to develop and apply them to the future urban decarbonised life.
