Bangladesh’s Institutional Quality Assurance Cells established the Quality Assurance Unit at the University Grants Commission (UGC) in 2014. In compliance with UGC, all universities created their own Cells to enhance teaching, learning, and research quality. Universities and their academic units are at different stages of adaptation and application of the process. However, the progress is not uniform. The focus of the presentation is firstly on the impact the process has on the teaching-learning nexus and student-centered learning, and secondly, the attitude of different stakeholders on the process. The presentation relies on a literature survey, focus group discussion (FGD), key informant interviews (KII), and participatory discussion. Admittedly, it may be too early to make a comprehensive and complete assessment, but the presentation may indicate the general direction and opportunity of mid-course correction.
